Our final day of ocean lapbook is here.  We loved learning about the ocean – it could easily be something we revisit in the future. There is just so much to learn!  The final lapbook piece was a a drawing of how Hunter could work with the ocean.

He chose to be an oceanographer who studies fish and sharks.

He was struggling with drawing fish and was at the point of giving up. I pulled out some stickers from our shark unit as well as a pakcknof fish stickers and he applied them all over his drawing.

Homeschool gets real – laying out supplies on the kitchen counter because little sisters have claimed the table for art projects.  We want learning to be part of life, not something that happened only during certain hours of the day or months of the year. Sure, I dream of a ‘homeschool room’ that is full of books, resources, and designated learning spaces.  We won’t let our dreams hold us back, though. Whether it’s a dining room table, the kitchen counter, or a muddy puddle, we will embrace learning in all it’s forms.

Hunter decided on our next lapbook – birds of prey.  There are some hawks that circle our neighborhood so it will be neat to learn more about these majestic animals.
