Hunter’s choice for our unit study is ROCKETS!  Tracing rockiest science to a kindergartener will be, um, challenging but fun. We started today by reading this article from the NASA website about the history of the rocket.

  
He built a rocket from magnet tiles while I read, and asked me to read it again so he could fusing building. I heard once that kids can retain more info while listening to a story if they are doin something kinetic at the same time. He put a lot of thought and detail into his rocket and made sure it was precisely how he wanted it.

  
I’ve noticed lately that he’s really been paying attention to symmetry when he created things, and true to form he asked for specific pieces to make his rocket the same on all sides. When there weren’t enough of the pieces he wanted, he switched the design so it would fit what he wanted.
