Hunter is slowly learning how to read during this year of homeschool kindergarten. He can get along quite well with his Dick and Jane reader, but the biggest challenge we face is memorization. Yep, memorization. This kid has a memory like… well, I’m not sure what to compare it to. It’s phenomenal.

After a bit of a crazy morning, I asked Hunter to read Madison three books while sitting on the couch. Lo and behold, he grabbed three Bernstain bear books and “read” them to her. In other words, he has memorized these thirtysomething paged, third grade level books. It was so sweet to hear his voice and inflection, just like how he hears us read to him. Madison was in heaven!
